The Emperor Edition will see tweaks to the politics and civil war mechanics, as well as improved graphics and a UI overhaul. Players can side with the established Roman Republic or with the rising leader Augustus and the future Roman Empire. The new update will also include the new Imperator August campaign, which takes place during the Roman Civil War. The Emperor Edition update will feature Armenia as a new playable faction, which will feature Noble Horse Archers, Kartli Axemen, Persian Hoplites, Persian Cavalry and Elite Persian Archers among its playable units. Those that have previously purchased the original version of the game will see their game updated to include all of the Emperor Edition changes at no extra charge. Those that have missed out on the armed conflict in ancient Rome can now go ahead and catch up, thanks to Total War: Rome 2 - Emperor Edition, which collects all of the game's previously-released content and free updates, as well as some new tweaks and features.
